Robert has 25 years of investment experience having worked as an analyst, portfolio manager, and research head at AllianceBernstein, UBS Asset Management, American Express and Fleming Investment Management.  Prior to working in the financial services industry, Robert worked in the coal mining industry as an Energy Analyst.

Harry joined Close Brothers Asset Management in September 2016 as a Director in the Investment Specialist team providing investment expertise across all our investment propositions.

Harry began his investment career in institutional fund management as an analyst with First State Investments, working primarily with the global equity team. He then moved in to private wealth management as an Investment Manager with Killik & Co, Rowan Dartington and Tilney.

He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, a Chartered Wealth Manager and has a degree in Geography from the University of Leeds.

Chris Boon is a Managing Director at Close Brothers Asset Management and has been with the Group since 1999. As Chief Executive of the Bespoke High Net Worth business from 2000-2007 he established Close Brothers’ presence in this sector. He was formerly a director and Chief Investment Officer of Rea Brothers (Investment Management) Ltd and chairman of several special purpose property companies.
 
Chris has been looking after corporate and private investors, their trusts, charities and pension funds since 1987 and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He has been a member of the Citywire Wealth Manager Top 100 and is listed as a Spears’ Distinguished Individual High Net Worth wealth manager. In 2014 & 2016 he was a finalist in the Spears’ Awards High Net Worth Manager of the Year.

As Managing Director for Close Brothers Asset Management, Mark is responsible for managing a range of multi asset, multi currency portfolios for institutional, charity and private clients both onshore and offshore.

Previously, he was a Divisional Director of Gerrard where he managed institutional and charity accounts.

Mark was a Director of Global Asset Management and also managed global institutional funds at Credit Suisse First Boston and BNP Paribas. He began his career as a Research Analyst at Carnegie Fondkommission, Sweden.

Mark is a graduate of Oriel College, Oxford.

Andrew is a Managing Director at Close Brothers Asset Management. He has over 30 years investment experience and manages a diverse range of investment portfolios, including private clients, trusts, pension funds and SICAVs.

Prior to joining Close Brothers in 2008, Andrew spent 5 years with Singer and Friedlander Investment Management. Before that he spent 17 years with James Capel, which subsequently evolved into HSBC Investment Management. Whilst there he grew a broad client base and headed a team managing and developing business from the branch network. He began his career in the City in 1971 with Grieveson Grant and Co and began managing client portfolios in 1977.

Francis Clarke is Managing Director at Close Brothers Asset Management. He has over 25 years of investment experience.

From 2000 to 2006, Francis worked at Singer and Friedlander Investment Management. Before this he worked at Fleming Private Asset Management for 11 years where he was appointed Director in 1994, assuming responsibility for the International Client desk from 1996. Previously he worked for Cazenove and Co., where he spent five years as an analyst in the US department. In 1985 he transferred into fund management, specialising in charities and private clients.

Francis is a graduate in History from Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the Securities Institute and holder of the Diploma.

Paul Clements heads the Manchester-based bespoke team, providing a full range of asset management services primarily in the North West and Yorkshire.

Paul began his career at Barclays Bank Trust Company Limited in 1982 before moving to Henry Cooke Lumsden in Manchester in 1987. He then held senior asset management posts in DJT Group an actuarial practise specialising in self-administered pensions and Rea Brothers prior to its acquisition by Close Brothers, and has headed up the North West office since 1999. 

Paul is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and a holder of its Diploma. He is also an Affiliate member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP) and holds various Chartered Insurance Institute examinations with the emphasis on pensions.

Tom graduated from Edinburgh University in 1990 and started his career with Singer and Friedlander Investment Management where he worked for over fifteen years.

Seton began his career in the City at Sheppards & Chase in 1983. He subsequently joined Robert Fleming in 1990 and HSBC Investment Management in 2000. Riitta joined Close Brothers Asset Management as Investment Director in July 2012, and was appointed manager of the Close Discretionary Portfolio Balanced Fund 1 April 2013 and of the Growth and Conservative Funds on 24 April 2013.
Before joining CBAM, Riitta held fund management positions at Schroder’s Investment Management and Montanaro Fund Managers in London.

Previously, she was Head of European Equities at OKO Asset Management in Finland and worked at SEB Gyllenberg where she established Finland’s first multi-asset SRI mutual fund.

Chris joined Close Brothers Asset Management in September  2013 after working at Merrill Lynch Portfolio Managers for over 14 years. He originally joined Mercury Asset Management in 1999, shortly before the takeover by Merrill Lynch.

Amy is an Investment Director at Close Brothers Asset Management, Head of Discretionary Management Service and a key member of the Multi Asset Class (MAC) Committee investment team deciding our house asset allocation. Amy runs many different risk rated portfolios as well as some of the firm’s largest individual mandates, trusts, charities and socially responsible investment portfolios. 

Prior to joining Close at the beginning of 2013, Amy was a founding partner of a private client discretionary investment management business which she ran for 10 years before selling her 45% share to her co-founder. 

Amy is a Chartered Wealth Manager and a Fellow of the Securities Institute. She sits on the editorial panel for the Securities and Investment Review and for 9 years sat on the committee for the Wealth Management Forum organising bimonthly events. She also acts as a mentor in the 30% Club Cross Company Mentoring Scheme.

After two years as a Management Consultant he joined Singer and Friedlander as a trainee Fund Manager.

John Marshall is a Managing Director and has been managing money on behalf of Close Brothers Asset Management clients and its predecessor organisations since 1997. His responsibilities include relative return and target return multi-asset mandates, both in the UK and offshore.

John joined Finsbury Asset Management in 1997, transferring within the Rea Brothers Group to the Investment Management Division the following year. After completing his post-graduate studies and prior to working in investment management, he worked in the computer research and development industry.

A graduate of Trinity College, Cambridge, John is an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals (ASIP) and a certified holder of the European Federation of Financial Analysts' Societies (EFFAS) Diploma.

Doug McCance is an Investment Director at Close Brothers Asset Management based in the Manchester office. Doug joined Close Brothers in September 2014 after starting his career in April 2007 at Brown Shipley.

Doug studied Mathematics with Finance at Leeds University before completing the Chartered Institute of Securities and Investment Diploma. Doug has been a member of the CFA Institute since 2014 and completed the CFA charter in June 2016.

Andrew joined Close Brothers Asset Management in September 2016 as a member of the Fixed Income team. He is the co-chair of the Fixed Income committee and a key member of the Multi Asset Class (MAC) Committee, contributing to house asset allocation and investment decisions.

Andrew has 9 years of investment experience – all in fixed income. Before joining Close Brothers, Andrew spent 4 years at Vanguard Asset Management where he was part of the team managing a range of investment grade and money market funds. Prior to this, Andrew worked as a Fixed Income Analyst at Moody’s and Barclays Capital.
Andrew holds a Master’s degree in Finance from Durham University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Manchester University.

Valeria has over 20 years of investment experience. 

After spending 6 years in Corporate Finance/ M&A at Deutsche Bank/ Bankers Trust, London, and ING Barings, Milan, Valeria has worked as an Equity analyst for Asset Management groups including Rowan Dartington, Albemarle Asset Management and Montanaro Asset Management, all based in London, covering numerous sectors on a Pan-European basis. 

Valeria joined Close Brothers Asset Management in January 2016 as an equity analyst covering Global Industrials, IT Hardware and IT Services.

Eileen is a Multi Asset Class Portfolio Manager with over 24 years of financial services experience.  She looks after both on and offshore multi asset class portfolios for private clients, trusts and charities.

Eileen joined Close Brothers Asset Management in February 2017 after 23 years at Brewin Dolphin where she was a Divisional Director. Eileen moved to the UK from the States in 1990, is married to Russell, and is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

Paul Roe is a Managing Director of Close Brothers Asset Management and is based in the Manchester office.
 
He is responsible for managing a range of private client assets, trusts, charities, pension schemes and SIPPs on a discretionary basis. His career in private client services includes extensive experience in private client fund management working for Henry Cooke Lumsden from 1985.
 
He was recruited to specialise in pension fund management with actuarial practice DJT Group in 1991 and with this function moved to Rea Brothers in 1998 and Close Brothers in 1999.  Paul is a Chartered Fellow of the Securities Institute and a holder of its Diploma.

Roohi started her career at Lehman Brothers in 1999 following Masters degrees obtained in International Management from King's College London and in Theoretical Physics from Imperial College of Science, Technology & Medicine. 

She joined Close Brothers Asset Management in April 2014, as a global equity analyst covering the consumer sector in the Research Team. Matthew joined Close Brothers Asset Management in 2007 and heads up the Manager Research team which is responsible for the research, selection and monitoring of fund managers. He is also a portfolio manager for the Managed range of multi-asset funds. 

Matthew started his career in the actuarial and investment consulting world and worked within the life insurance, pensions and investment teams at Mercer and Aon. He graduated from Nottingham University with a First Class Honours Degree in Mathematics with Engineering.

Weixu worked for Fortune Asset Management which was wholly acquired by Close Brothers Plc in 2010. He now heads up ETF research at Close Brothers Asset Management while managing the Close Tactical Select Conservative, Balanced and Growth Portfolio Funds as well as the Close techMARK fund.  His investment universe comprises a full range of passive (Index funds and Exchange Traded Products) investments across the equity, bond and alternative spectrums.

Roberta joined Close Brothers Asset Management in 2015 as an equity analyst responsible for covering companies within the TMT (telecoms, media and technology) and Chemicals sectors. Prior to this Roberta worked at Schroders in a variety of roles including as an equity analyst covering stocks within the TMT, Luxury and Auto sectors and at Standard & Poor’s as a modelling specialist. 

Roberta has a first degree in Philosophy and Lingusitics from the University of Pisa and the Scuola Normale Superiore in Pisa and has an MSc in Management from Imperial College; she is a CFA charter holder and has 9 years of investment experience.

Tim Eliot-Cohen joined Close Brothers in 2017 as a Managing Director. Tim has 20 years of experience having joined Flemings in 1997 and subsequently spending 17 years as a Director at Rathbones. At Rathbones, he directly ran £750million of assets for some 200 families, trusts and charities. Throughout this time, he was an integral member of the Stock Selection committee and is genuinely passionate about investments. He also started an education programme for young adults, which has been rolled out to over 3000 children and many schools. He subsequently produced a book for the course called "Your Money, Your Future". Tim heads the recently opened London West End Office in Pall Mall.

Tim lives in Wiltshire with a family of 4 and is an active philanthropist. He has raised £2m for various cancer and sight charities and has recently raised £500,000 to build a school in his local village, which is now being constructed.
